Managed Hosting
Managed WordPress Hosting
Hosting that's looked after by people, not just a control panel. Cheap hosting is easy to find. What's harder to find is hosting where somebody is actually watching your site, keeping it updated, backing it up and answering the phone when something goes wrong. Our managed WordPress hosting covers the server, the speed, the security and the backups, and it comes with a team who build WordPress sites for a living. If your site goes down at an awkward hour, it's our problem before it's yours.
No hard sell.

The difference between hosting and managed hosting.
With ordinary hosting you rent space on a server, and updates, backups, security and speed are down to you. Most businesses find out something's wrong when a customer tells them the site isn't working.
Managed hosting means we take that on. The server is set up for WordPress, monitored around the clock and patched when it needs it, so your website just keeps working.
What's Included
Fast servers set up for WordPress
A server tuned for WordPress rather than a shared box running a bit of everything. Page speed matters to your visitors and to Google, and the server is where it starts.
Daily backups
Your site is backed up twice a day, files and database both, and the backups are kept away from the server for six months. If something breaks, gets hacked or a plugin update goes wrong, we can put it back.
SSL and security
An SSL certificate so your site runs on https, plus firewall, malware scanning and security patches. If a site does get hit, we've got a tested process for cleaning it up without taking it offline.
Monitoring
We watch uptime and performance so we know about a problem before you do. Overnight, our support team in the Philippines picks that up, so monitoring doesn't stop when the Grantham office closes.
Support from the people who build WordPress sites
When you ring about a hosting problem, you're talking to someone who builds WordPress sites every day, not reading from a script.
Moving your site to us.
What happens when you switch.
We take a copy of your site, set it up on our server and test it before anything changes. Then we point your domain at the new server. Done properly, your visitors won't notice a thing. And it doesn't have to be a WordPress site: we migrate any website.
You keep your domain in your own name. We just host the site.
Why we host the sites we build.
And why we'll host ones we didn't.
We started offering hosting because sites we'd built kept ending up on cheap shared servers, and within a year they'd slowed down, fallen out of date and sometimes been hacked. All that work, undone by the box it was sitting on.
So now we'd rather look after them ourselves. We know how the site is put together, so if something breaks we're not starting from scratch. And we'll happily host a WordPress site somebody else built. We'll just have a look at it first and tell you if anything needs sorting before it moves.

FAQs
01 What is managed WordPress hosting?
Hosting where the provider looks after the technical side for you: server set-up, updates, security, backups and monitoring. Ordinary hosting gives you the server and leaves the rest to you. Managed hosting is for businesses that want the site to work without thinking about it.
02 How much does managed WordPress hosting cost?
Our managed WordPress hosting starts from £30 plus VAT a month. That's more than a basic shared hosting plan, because you're paying for people as well as a server. What you're paying for is not finding out from a customer that your site has been down since Tuesday.
03 Do I need managed hosting?
If your website brings in enquiries or sales, and you haven't got someone technical keeping it updated and backed up, then it's worth it. If the site is a hobby or you're comfortable doing the maintenance yourself, basic hosting may be fine.
04 Can I move my existing website to you?
Yes, and it doesn't have to be WordPress. We migrate any website. We'll check it over first, move it, test it and switch your domain across without your visitors noticing.
05 Is my website backed up?
Yes, twice a day, files and database, and the backups are stored away from the server for six months. If a plugin update breaks something or the site is hacked, we can restore it.
06 What if my site goes down?
Our monitoring will usually spot it before you do, and we'll be on it. If you notice first, ring us or email support@codesky.co.uk. Outside UK office hours our Philippines team covers monitoring and fixes, so an overnight problem gets looked at overnight. A site that's down or compromised is always treated as urgent.
