Our website maintenance packages take care of all of that each month. You send us the changes, we keep the site updated, secure and quick, and you don't have to remember any of it.

What happens to a website nobody looks after.
It rarely breaks all at once. A plugin falls a few versions behind, a security patch gets missed, and the site gets a bit slower each month because nobody's measuring it.
Then one day an update conflicts with another, or the site gets hacked through a hole patched a year ago. We clean up sites like that regularly. It's a lot cheaper to keep one maintained.

Maintenance keeps the site itself healthy. Hosting keeps the server it sits on healthy. They work best together, and most of our clients have both, but you can take either on its own. If your site is hosted elsewhere, we can still maintain it.

A lot of maintenance plans are a script that runs updates overnight. If an update breaks the site, nobody knows until you do.
Ours is done by our development team, the same people who build our WordPress sites. When an update goes wrong, they know where to look. When you ask for a change, it's made by someone who could have built the site in the first place. And if we did build it, we already know how it's put together.

01 What does website maintenance include?
For us, it's the monthly updates to WordPress, plugins and themes, security scanning and patching, performance checks and content changes, all handled through our ticket system. Other companies define it differently, so it's worth asking exactly what's covered before you sign up to any plan.
02 How much does website maintenance cost?
It depends on the size of the site and how many changes you need each month, so we price it after looking at your site. Whatever the figure, it's usually a fraction of what it costs to rebuild a site that's been hacked or has fallen apart, and there's no locked-in contract: 30 days' notice if you want to stop.
03 Do I need website maintenance?
If your site is built on WordPress and you're not updating it yourself, yes. WordPress and its plugins get updated constantly, and each missed update is a potential way in for someone. If you're comfortable doing it yourself and checking the site afterwards, you may not need us.
04 Can you maintain a website you didn't build?
Yes. We'll look it over first, because we sometimes find sites that need fixing before they can be maintained sensibly, and we'll tell you if that's the case.
05 How quickly do you make changes?
Content changes are turned round within 48 hours of the ticket coming in. A site that's down or compromised counts as urgent and is dealt with straight away. Send it through the ticket system or email support@codesky.co.uk, and we'll let you know when it's booked in.
06 Is website maintenance the same as hosting?
No. Hosting is the server your site lives on. Maintenance is looking after the site itself. We offer both, together or separately.
