We're Codesky, a website design and digital marketing agency in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Since 2016 we've designed and built more than 500 websites, for everyone from one-van tradespeople to regional and national brands. Seven of us, one office, and no account manager standing between you and the people doing the work.
What went into the site you just saw
The parts you noticed, and the parts you didn't.
The bits you noticed were the design, the photos and how easy it was to find what you wanted. The bits you didn't notice matter just as much.
Planned before it was designed.
Before anyone opened a design file, we sat down with the business to work out who its customers are, what they search for and what they need to see before they pick up the phone. The page structure comes from that, not from a template.
Coded from scratch.
We write our own WordPress themes rather than using page builders or off-the-shelf templates. That's a big part of why our sites load quickly, and why they don't fall apart when a plugin updates.
Built to be found.
We do SEO and Google Ads as well as design, so search is part of the build from the first sketch: page titles, headings, structured data and, on a redesign, redirects from every old page that mattered.
Easy for the owner to update.
The business can change its own text, photos and news without ringing us. And when they'd rather not, we're a phone call away.
Looked after once it's live.
We can host and maintain the site after launch, so updates, backups, security and speed are handled by the people who built it.

We won't copy someone else's website for you, and we wouldn't want to. Your business has different customers, different services and a different reason for people to choose you, so your site should be built around those. What you'll get is the same thinking, the same care and the same team.
One thing worth knowing: we only work with one business per trade in each area. If the site you just saw belongs to a direct competitor of yours down the road, we'll tell you on the first call, and we won't take the job. If it doesn't, we'd love to hear from you.

The site is usually where we start, not where we stop.

Did Codesky build the website I just came from?
If it has "Website by Codesky" in the footer and the link brought you here, yes. We designed and built it, and in many cases we still host and look after it. If you'd like to check, ring us and ask.
Can you build me a website like that one?
We can build you one with the same quality and the same thinking behind it, but not a copy. Your site should be planned around your own customers and services. And if the site you saw belongs to a direct competitor in your area, we'll tell you straight away, because we only work with one business per trade in each area.
How much would a website like that cost?
It depends on what the site needs to do. A brochure site for a local business is a very different job from a shop with hundreds of products. After a first conversation, we'll give you a fixed, itemised quote with timescales, so you know exactly what you're paying for before we start.
How long does it take to build a website?
A small business website usually takes around two weeks from sign-off to launch, and almost every site we build is finished within two months. The thing that slows projects down is waiting for text and photos, so the sooner we have those, the sooner you launch.
Do you only work with businesses in Lincolnshire?
No. We're based in Grantham and Lincolnshire is home, but we build websites for businesses across the UK. We'll meet you in person where we can, and work by phone and video where we can't.
Who will I actually deal with?
The people doing the work. Jasmin runs your project, Will designs the site and Acer builds it. There's no account manager in between, so your questions go straight to the person who can answer them.
Will I own the website?
Yes. Once the project is paid for, the website, the design and the content are yours, and your domain is registered in your own name from the start.
Why is there a "Website by Codesky" link on my site?
If we built your website, it's how other people find out who made it. If you'd rather not have it there, tell us and we'll take it off.
