Web Design for Financial Advisers
A website for a financial firm has to look like somewhere you'd trust with your money, and it has to keep up as the business changes.
Nexus Capital hold a portfolio of companies, and they needed a site that presented it properly and that they could update themselves every time a new company joined. We designed the brand, built the site on WordPress, and now they add companies in minutes without calling us.
What a financial firm's website has to do
Look the part, because credibility is the product. Explain clearly what you do and who you do it for, without the jargon that makes most financial sites unreadable. Show the people, because clients are choosing an adviser, not a logo. Carry the regulatory information in the right places. And be easy for your own team to update, because a financial firm's website goes out of date fast.
Getting found
Financial advice searches are competitive, and a lot of them are local: "financial adviser [town]", "pension advice near me". Local SEO, a strong Google Business Profile and content that answers the questions clients actually ask will get you in front of them. We'll tell you honestly where Google Ads makes sense and where it's too expensive to be worth it.
How we'd do it
Websites for financial advisers: your questions
What has to appear on a financial adviser's website?
Your FCA status and firm reference number, your registered details, and the relevant risk warnings wherever you promote investments, such as the warning that investments can fall as well as rise. If you're an appointed representative, your principal's name. We build the structure in; your compliance team signs off the words.
How do we explain our fees without breaking the rules?
Clearly and early. Clients want to know whether you charge a fixed fee, an hourly rate or a percentage, and the Consumer Duty expects you to make it understandable. A plain fees page is one of the most visited pages on most advisers' sites.
Should we show our advisers' qualifications?
Yes. Clients are choosing a person, not a logo. A page for each adviser with their photo, qualifications such as Chartered or Certified status, and what they specialise in builds trust and helps Google understand who's behind the advice.
Can we update the website ourselves?
You should be able to. Nexus Capital add new companies to their portfolio in minutes without calling us, because we built the site to be updated by their own team.
Is Google Ads worth it for financial advice?
Sometimes. Clicks for pension and investment terms can be expensive, and Google has its own financial services verification requirements. We'll show you the likely cost per enquiry before you spend anything, and say so if local SEO and content are the better route.
Can we use client testimonials?
Possibly, but check with your compliance adviser first. Testimonials in financial promotions have to be handled carefully, and the rules depend on what you're promoting.
